In the holiday season, we turn our focus to the comforting, cozy drinks of winter. Our super popular
Holiday Blend is back - rich chocolate and subtle hints of citrus round out this merry and bright offering. We also created a few fun recipes that you can try throughout the season - this isn’t your typical peppermint mocha or ginger bread latte. We’re featuring cold brew, infused spirits and homemade ganache in these easy and delicious drinks.
Chocolate Orange Mocha
This recipe is simple and extremely versatile. It starts with a 3-ingredient orange chocolate ganache. You can use this as a base for many different drinks.
Ingredients:
- 8 oz heavy cream- you can use dairy free creamer as well
- 8 oz bittersweet chocolate chips- you can also use milk/dark chocolate bars just make sure you chop them into small pieces.
- 1 orange-zested
Method:
Add chocolate to a heat-proof bowl. Add heavy cream to a small sauce pan and heat until it just starts to simmer. Pour directly over the chocolate and use a whisk to combine. The chocolate will melt from the heat of the heavy cream and create a silky chocolate sauce. Zest the outside of a whole orange and stir into the chocolate ganache. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week. It will thicken as it cools but will become more liquid when adding to hot drinks.
Start with 1-2 Tbsp per beverage. Add to freshly brewed hot coffee, espresso and steamed milk for a latte, or you can add to hot milk for a rich orange hot chocolate. Make sure to garnish with whipped cream, cocoa powder and even more orange zest.
Raspberry Linzer Cookie Cold Brew
A holiday cookie flavored iced coffee! This drink takes its flavor inspiration from linzer cookies and tortes that are found on many holiday dinner tables. Just a few ingredients are needed to make a really delicious specialty drink.
Ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp raspberry jam- Bonne Maman is a great brand
- ½ oz almond syrup
- 8 oz sweet love blend cold brew (see our recipe here)
- 1 full cup of ice
- Cocktail shaker
Method:
Fill cup almost to the top with ice and add cold brew to fill ¾ of the way to the top of the cup. Add ice & cold brew to a cocktail shaker with raspberry jam & almond syrup. Shake vigorously to create foam. Pour all contents of shaker back in to the cup- the shaking creates a nice foam layer and a cascading effect.
Coffee Infused Eggnog Cocktail
For this recipe you’re going to make your own infused spiced rum! This is a really easy way to create your own coffee cocktails from scratch.
Ingredients:
- 8 oz Spiced Rum, Bourbon or other spirit of your choice
- 3 Tbsp Holiday Blend Coffee (whole bean)
- 1 quart of your favorite eggnog
- Garnish: nutmeg & cardamom powder
Method:
Add spiced rum and whole bean coffee to a 1-pint glass mason jar with a lid. Let this infuse on your counter top for 3-4 days, giving it a shake every day. After a few days strain out the coffee beans and combine the rum with your eggnog. Top each glass with a sprinkle of cardamom and nutmeg.
